Tuapasi Uluilakepa - Assistant Associate - New Start Transports

Tuapasi of New Start TransportsHello, my name is Tuapasi Uluilakepa.  I am enthusiastic and a hard working person.  I enjoy sports and most of all working with youth.  I was born and raised in Tonga, where I also served a 2 year service mission for my church.  Upon my arrival to the United States, I was recruited on a football scholarship and attended San Jose State in Southern California.  I love working with youth because I enjoy helping them in their lives to improve their future.  I try to look at the youth I assist as I would my own children, and I hope others will do the same.

My service mission was my first experience of helping both youth and adults.  It was difficult at first to understand how different lifestyles and environments can effect a person's life.  I found with caring, understanding, and an open heart it was possible to change a person's life both physically and mentally.

I currently work in the youth corrections department for the State of Utah while assisting New Start.  I am currently trained and certified in PCS, NCI, CPR and First Aid.  Working with New Start has been an opportunity of personal learning and development.  I have enjoyed the growth that I see in myself with helping youth.  I am thankful to New Start for this opportunity.
